Arvind Kejriwal visits Gujarat on May 11 to hold a rally in Rajkot

New Delhi: AAP national convener and Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal will visit Gujarat on May 11 and hold a rally in Rajkot on the same day, the AAP said on Sunday. This will be Kejriwal’s second visit to the election-bound state in two weeks. He had spoken alongside Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) leader Chhotu Vasava at a tribal rally in Bharuch district on May 1.

That BJP has been in power in Gujarat for almost three decades, and the congressThe failure to put up an uphill battle with the ruling party has given the AAP room to expand its base. The AAP has sought to replace Congress where it is in direct combat with the BJP.

During his last visit to Gujarat, Kejriwal had targeted the BJP through hospitals and schools. He said the BJP had become arrogant because it had been in power for three decades. He urged people to give the AAP a chance and it will transform schools and hospitals across the state.

With the polls just months away, the BJP and Congress have also launched their political campaign. Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi will visit the state on May 10th and speak at the “Adivasi Satyagrah Rally” in tribal-dominated Dahod.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Dahod on April 20 and launched development projects worth Rs 22,000 crore for the tribal region.

Rahul Gandhi will address the rally at the historic Navjivan Arts and Commerce College in Dahod. After the event, he will meet with party MLAs and interact with leaders of the state’s tribal areas.

In the last election, Congress narrowed the margin of defeat by improving its number to 77 seats, an increase of 16 from the 2012 level. However, some of his MLA switched sides, bringing the number down to 63.
