The annual motorcycle rally Bikes, Blues & BBQ takes place in Rogers this year, according to a social media post from the event.

“We are proud to announce our partnership with the City of Rogers and the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce,” read the post. “Stay tuned for more details.”

Rally events have been spread across the region in recent years, with the main stage on Dickson Street in the West Avenue parking lot across from the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville.

However, last year organizers announced that the main stage would have to be relocated as the parking lot on Dickson Street is earmarked for the construction of the new Culture-Art Corridor project.

The 2021 main stage was scheduled at Baum Walker Stadium on the University of Arkansas campus but was canceled after the university withdrew permits following a surge in local COVID-19 hospital admissions.

The rally board also canceled the 2020 event due to the pandemic.

The 2022 event is scheduled for October 5-8, which is a little later than usual.

The rally usually takes place in late September when the Arkansas soccer team is out for the Southwest Classic.

Tommy Sisemore, executive director of Bikes and Blues, said the later dates were chosen because the LPGA’s Northwest Arkansas Championship events take place on the last weekend in September, when the rally normally takes place.

“We were concerned about taxing infrastructure needs from festival electricians to tents, not to mention adding more tax to local hotels,” said Sisemore.

The new dates coincide with the Arkansas v Mississippi State soccer game in Starkville, Miss.
