Chase Elliott had “low expectations” while giving Hendrick Motorsports rival Kyle Larson the ultimate compliment on “the toughest race on earth” in 2021

Last year it was announced that Hendrick Motorsport star Chase Elliott would be competing in the legendary Chili Bowl Midget race. Following the news, Elliott was asked a few questions about his expectations of entering this unique racing format.

Elliot explained To the me. I only felt like I am still in I’m in my twenties and I feel like learning new things gets harder as I get older disciplines. I I didn’t grow up with it but I It just felt like going out and trying something new, i have to do it before you know it you’re getting too old and things are getting harder to learn and you’re getting older for that secure.”

“So I just felt the opportunities were right and luckily it was time to try it out so I’m looking forward to it. My expectations are definitely low. But I’m excited to try to learn and honestly try to learn it the right way. I think it’s a completely different thing and I’m looking forward to going there and I’d say give it a try.

Chase Elliott mentioned that he’s not a quitter

Elliott was also asked how he would feel if he couldn’t exceed expectations for his Chili Bowl race. He also paid an indirect compliment to his Hendrick Motorsport teammate.

Elliott replied, I like to think for myself look at it like this You know, be a fan of event and look at the… event as I see how hard it is. I mean, that had to be one of the most difficult You know that want have to be one of the most difficult Race for victory in the world.”

His Hendrick Motorsport teammate Kyle Larson had previously won the Chili Bowl race and Elliott called it one of the toughest races, which may have been an indirect compliment to Larson’s performance.

“I mean by how many Cars are entered and how there is no Gguarantees and your leader nights and only Everyone the Run So I Completely receive the Challenge. I think I understand it enough to knows the it is walk to be very difficult,” concluded Elliot.
