Call to all passionate classic car owners.
There are many ways to explore the world. Some prefer the speed of flight. Others take a scenic train ride or relax aboard a state-of-the-art cruise ship.
Let me introduce you to a very different but exciting way of seeing some incredible parts of our world.
Rally the Globe is a not-for-profit membership club dedicated to providing a range of motorsport events for classic and classic car owners.
It was launched in 2018 by a group of classic car rally enthusiasts to give a new look – and a new life – to their enjoyment of old cars.

Once launched, Rally the Globe quickly set up an ambitious program of events to take its members to all four corners of the world.
From the less intense asphalt tracks to marathon rallies with significant off-road sections and strict timing, the drivers have experienced the rugged landscapes of Portugal, the best of Kenya and Tanzania and the coasts of the Indian Ocean.
While the Covid pandemic stalled the proposed flagship rally around the world, the team was finally back on the road in June with a series of rallies in Yorkshire and the beautiful west coast of Scotland ahead of an exciting program of events in 2022.
Fred Gallagher, a former World Rally Championship navigator and Wales Rally GB course instructor for 20 years in a row, said: “Regardless of the Covid pandemic, we have an ambitious and extraordinary program of events that underlines our philosophy of having a spirit of adventure for the property owner, with unforgettable rides through parts of the world that they would otherwise probably never see or enjoy.
“We pride ourselves on not only finding some of the best roads in the world, but also finding quirky and amazing locations along the way for our crews to enjoy in between their competitive tests.”
“Having attended events in South Africa, South America, Iberia and Scotland, I can guarantee that it combines adrenaline pumping experiences with an incredible chance to see some really beautiful parts of the world.
“It brings like-minded people together from everywhere – and often much closer. Over dinner in South America, we had a chat with fellow drivers who happen to live in Norfolk, County, and we’ve been good friends ever since. “
The rallies are a test of perseverance and excitement, and the occasional test of your vows! With me as the navigator and my husband Andrew the driver, I can tell you that you have to work in tandem, overcome all obstacles and come out smiling at the other end. Kind of like a good marriage really.
As Andrew says, “Classic cars are not meant to be a show. They should be driven, and rallying in them is a great way to enjoy the cars and see the world – exploring places you would never find regardless, while meeting like-minded people along the way.
“They often say ‘you only come here once’. This thought often springs to mind when enjoying rallying, the world, and meeting people from places that you literally had no idea existed.
“Driving over Cairnwell Pass last week, the highest road in Great Britain, reaching a height of 670m with every bend and majestic views of Scotland, literally took my breath away.”
Graham Goodwin, Rally the Globe Group Chairman, said, “We started this as a not-for-profit club for invited members who all share a similar passion for unforgettable automotive adventures.
“We all want events that serve a magical cocktail of great classic cars, the thrill of competition and unforgettable shared experiences in distant places – and that is what the Rally the Globe group delivers in spades!”
Whatever your preferred mode of travel, I bet it has gotten even more important and at times quite poignant over the past 18 months that have been devastated by a pandemic.
There is so much of this beautiful world to discover and Rally the Globe gives you the perfect opportunity to do just that.
It can “happily” get you out of your comfort zone. But the people you meet, the places you see and the life experiences you get are really special.
