KBL commits to greater involvement in Kenyan motorsport after East African Classic Rally

Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), through its White Cap Lager beer brand, has expressed optimism about greater involvement in Kenyan motorsport. This is done through inclusion in the East African Safari Classic Rally. The company recently became an official responsible drinking partner at the classic car rally to raise awareness among customers about excessive alcohol consumption.

EABL celebrates its centenary in 2022 and has prioritized increased support for sport, a key consumer touchpoint. Motorsport is a specific channel that the brand has singled out as priority areas to further their engagement in interacting with their consumers through shared passion points. Focus now turns to the Kenyan Rally Championship, which will move to its second event on March 5th in Nakuru.

Speaking at the awards ceremony at Watamu’s Oceans Sport Resort, Abel Ratemo, Whitecap Senior Brand Manager said: “We congratulate all participants on their good work and the organizers on a successful classic event. As Kenya Breweries we take great pride in the whole experience and the fact that it was enjoyed in a safe environment. As always, we emphasized responsible fun and drinking and were glad to see that was the case throughout the classic.”

He added: “As the curtain falls on classic rally, we as KBL wish to increase our involvement in Kenyan motorsport as a platform where we connect with our consumers through shared points of passion. This is a strategic move as we celebrate Kenya Breweries Limited’s centenary and move into the new century.”
