Mechanic wanted at Ashley Seward Motorsport

Ashley Seward Motorsport is looking for a racing mechanic

With a presence in the TCR, the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia and the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge, Ashley Seward Motorsport is a brisk business.

This should continue until 2022 with the introduction of four brand new Porsche 992 Cup Cars and make ASM an exciting, diverse and growing workplace.

And to underline the latter, team owner Ashley Seward is looking for one and possibly several new race mechanics.

The Victorian operation is one of the premier national racing teams with world class facilities and equipment in its workshop in Dandenong South.

“The workshop is great,” Seward began.

“We have fantastic equipment, everything is state-of-the-art when it comes to wheel alignment and setup.

“We have a good infrastructure, we enjoy racing and we enjoy winning.”

Seward’s operation has a successful pedigree, sampling champagne with Lee Holdsworth in the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series.

It was also successful in the Carrera Cup, with Geoff Emery claiming the Pro-Am competition in 2021.

After four cars were used in Bathurst last weekend, this work is to be continued in the next generation of the one-make cup.

“We have four brand new cars, which is pretty exciting,” said Seward.

“We had four this year, we had four at Bathurst, so that was all good.

“But that [the arrival of the Porsche 992] is probably one of the biggest and most exciting things. “

To help the company continue its triumphant advance, Seward is looking for a race mechanic to take the lead in preparing the vehicle.

It’s a tempting offer; an opportunity to join one of the country’s leading racing teams as it enters a new era in one of its key competitions.

“The role we want to give is a type number 1 mechanic that is suitable for all levels,” Seward explained.

“You know, being able to throw screwdrivers and manage your time well, and all of the above.

“A good general all-rounder who fits into motorsport.”
