Jaguar TCS Racing reveals new livery
As part of a “long-term, multi-year partnership”, Tata Consultancy Services as an IT service, consulting and business solution organization becomes the title partner of the Jaguar Formula E team.
The company has sponsored events such as the New York City Marathon, London Marathon, and more in the past. Tata owns Jaguar Land Rover and this new partnership will build on that existing relationship. A statement released by the company states that âTCS ‘experience of working with leading players in the automotive value chainâ will prove to be a valuable asset.
The rebranding of the team also brings a completely new paint job for 2022. The team is starting its 8th season with its most successful Formula E campaign. Together with drivers Mitch Evans and Sam Bird, Jaguar finished second overall in the Formula E World Championship 2021.
Both drivers will stay on board for the coming season, and Jaguar is focused on refining its all-electric I-TYPE 5 race car with software revisions to improve energy management, pace and efficiency. Another focus was the simulation and understanding of the new qualifying format.
Formula E technology to support JLR road vehicle development
The team will also take on an additional role within the recently established motorsport division of JLR. As part of this, all Formula E activities for testing, developing, collaborating and exchanging innovations, including EV technologies, are used within JLR to support the development of road vehicles.
Jaguar hopes this increased collaboration will continue to help the brand Transition to an all-electric luxury car company from 2025.
As part of the reorganization, James Barclay will take on the role of Managing Director at Jaguar Land Rover Motorsport Limited in addition to his role as Team Principal at Jaguar TCS Racing. Jaguar Land Rover CEO Thierry Bollore will chair the new organization.
