NACON and its development studio KT Racing are very pleased to announce the start of the eSports WRC championship season 2022 in cooperation with the WRC promoter! The competition, which will be the sixth consecutive season, will be held on WRC 10, the official video game of the FIA World Rally Championship and recognized as the best rally game of the year, available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
The action-packed 13-stop calendar begins February 4-7 in Monte-Carlo before ending in Greece on August 12-15, 2022. Along the way, participants will compete at five new stops on the 2022 calendar: Spain, Belgium, Croatia, Estonia and Greece.
The format remains the same as in 2021, with the top eight regular-season riders automatically earning a place in the World Finals, the date and venue of which has yet to be determined. The top 10 results of each player will count towards qualifying for the final.
Renowned teams compete for the 2022 season
The WRC eSports Championship is open to all WRC 10 players and gives the biggest racing teams a chance to compete again this year! Last year more than 15,000 players took part in 13 rounds, with a live finale from Athens during the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece. This year, Race Clutch, Virtual Best Racing and Team Williams are already registered for the 2022 season, which promises to be competition at the highest level.
Three-time WRC winner and 2021 champion Lohan ‘Nexl’ Blanc will line up alongside his Race Clutch team-mates in the 2022 season and put his title on the line again.
