WRC November 10 update to add the Acropolis rally arriving November 25th – GTPlanet

The next update for WRC 10th arrives on November 25th and brings – as expected – the EKO Acropolis Rally of Gods 2021 with it.

It’s part of the update roadmap released by KT Racing ahead of the game’s launch in September. We saw the first part of it punctually in October 2021 with the Ypres rally, along with new cars and new historical content.

The November update will also include a new rally car and some historical content, but the headline of the update is the new rally event in Greece.

A popular venue on the World Rally Championship calendar, the Acropolis event is named after what used to be the starting line: the Acropolis itself in Athens. It has been part of the WRC since it was founded, was only missing from the calendar in 1974 due to the oil crisis and was demoted to a junior lap in 1995 and 2014-2020. In fact, it was part of the WRC’s predecessor, the International Manufacturers’ Championship.

Although the rally has changed a little over the past 50 years, moving from a 500 mile long distance event to a modern day sprint event, the backdrop is largely the same. It’s a gravel rally that runs some of the spectacular mountain roads in southeast Greece through a geologically active region and heavy mining activity that can make for some spectacular dust.

A version of the Acropolis rally already exists in WRC 10th, as part of the game’s historical modes, in which you recreate classic stages from the 49-year history of the WRC. However, this update will bring a full nine-stage rally based on the modern route when it arrives later in the week.

The November update will also add five new rally stages in historical mode, as well as a new car whose identity will remain under wraps for the time being. There will also be an update to Clubs mode and a number of new stickers for the game’s livery editor.

We’ll bring you more about it as soon as we get it, but as things stand, the November update is set to arrive on Thursday, November 25th at 0900 UTC.

If you haven’t picked up yet WRC 10th, it will be available at a 45% discount on the PlayStation Store during Black Friday events on PlayStation 4 and at a 50% discount on Xbox platforms.
