Yokohama Rubber in support of 3 Walkenhorst Motorsport cars competing in the 2022 Nürburgring 24 Hours

Yokohama Rubber Co.,Ltd. is pleased to announce that it will be at the 50th Nürburgring, which takes place in Germany from May 26th to 29th. All three cars compete in the top SP9 class. Yokohama Rubber will fit the cars with ADVAN A005 tires for dry conditions and ADVAN A006 tires for wet conditions.

Under a partnership agreement with Walkenhorst Motorsport, Yokohama Rubber supplies tires for the team’s cars competing in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) and the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Drivers using ADVAN tires at this year’s Nürburgring 24-hour race include Christian Krognes, winner of round six of last year’s NLS and third-place finisher of round two this year, as well as well-known ex-BMW works driver Jörg Müller his excellent performances in the races of the FIA ​​World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) and the SUPER GT. The #101 car, driven by Christian Krognes and his fellow drivers, will feature the YOKOHAMA logo prominently on the side, roof and rear wing of its strikingly colored body.

Under Yokohama Rubber’s medium-term three-year management plan (2021-2023), Yokohama Transformation 2023 (YX2023), the consumer tire business aims to maximize the sales rates of YOKOHAMA’s high value-added tires, namely the global flagship brand ADVAN. the GEOLANDAR brand for tires for SUVs and pickups as well as various winter tires. YX2023 also positions participation in motorsport activities as crucial to the company’s efforts to develop new tire technologies that will further strengthen the ADVAN and GEOLANDAR brands. Yokohama Rubber is therefore once again participating in a variety of motorsport events in Japan and around the world, from top-level events to grassroots events.
